The carbon raiser is divided into ordinary recarburizer and graphite recarburizer. According to different smelting processes, carbon can be added during steel making and casting to increase the strength of steel and casting:
Ordinary recarburizers can be classified into pitch coke, calcined petroleum coke and coal-based recarburizer depending on the absorption rate in molten steel. We concluded that as a recarburizer, pitch coke is the one with the highest absorption rate, followed by calcined petroleum coke.
The graphite recarburizer is made from petroleum coke or pitch coke placed in a graphitization furnace. After a high temperature of 2400 ° C or higher, sulfur, nitrogen and volatile matter are all removed by chemical reaction.
Graphite recarburizers are high-quality carbonizing agents in steelmaking and casting, with low sulfur and nitrogen contents but high-carbon, also called low-nitrogen recarburizers. According to different raw materials sources and manufacturing processes, graphite recarburizers can be divided into the following four types: graphitized pitch coke, graphitized petroleum coke, artificial graphite particles, electrodes scraps.
