Yixing Shuyi Art Studio is specialized in design and creation of all kinds of pottery arts and crafts, such as purple clay teapots, vases, carvings and sculptures. Under the lead of Mr Wong, we are keeping exploration and creation and make more and more artworks to let the world understand Yixing and also let Yixing be open to the world.
Shuyi studio was founded by Mr Dajun Wong in 1989, which is located at the foot of mountain Shu, Dingshu town, Yixing city, Jiangsu province. Yixing is the world-famous cradle land of zisha (purple clay), an ancient capital of pottery for its brilliant ceramic culture.
About Dajun Wong:
Mr Dajun Wong was born in 1965 to a family of pottery in Dingshu town and went to "Yixing Zisha Pottery Craft Factory" to study carving and handmade teapots in 1984.
In 1992, Mr Wong went to Jiangsu Yixing Light Industry School for further education of Ceramic pottery Design major.
Mr Wong was ever guided by the Chinese great master Gu Shaopei, who is one of the Top 10 China Arts and Crafts Masters, therefore Mr Wong reached a new higher artistic attainment.
Besides, Mr Wong was one of the first group of artists who got the "Zisha (purple clay) Molding Job Qualification Certificate", which is issued by "China State Department of Labor".
The art works created by Mr Wong are deeply admired and collected by many insiders, and have been repeatedly awarded at or above provincial level matches, some of them have been collected by "Wuxi museum" permanently.
In order to carry forward this traditional handicraft, Mr Wong has taught some talented students, many of them have been excellent craftsmen, our great team was established just under this background.
